Student Resources in Context

Student Resources in Context contains a section on Literature and the Arts.  Here you will find plot summaries, literary criticism, and author biographies.  Student Resources in Context also contains the text and analysis of over 300 poems, which can be accessed by typing an author’s name in the search box or selecting an author’s name from the list within Literature and the Arts.  Next, click the link to creative works inside the author’s profile.  The image below shows a portion of the content included in the Literature and the Arts section of Student Resources in Context followed by an excerpt of a poetry analysis.  Put the cursor over the numbers at the end of each line to see how the line is analyzed.

Books & Authors

Books & Authors is a reader’s advisory database that helps educators create reading lists for students.  Lists can be created by author, genre, awards, or “read-a-likes” which are books similar to a chosen title.  Book reviews and brief author biographies are also included.  The advanced search allows lists to be created by genre and audience (adult, young adult, or children).
